Printer problem

Don't see a sub forum for printer problems so. I have a HP 1050 j-410. I just installed new cartridges because the printer was cutting the first line in half. It is still doing that. It will print correctly from Word pad. I have ran the HP test and am told no problems found and it will print a test page fine. When I try to highlight text and select print selection only the print is very very small. Any ideas out there. Thanks
