Updating Vista to Windows 7

Hello,

Strange request...
I have an internal hard drive with Windows 7 installed on. I have it inside a 3.5" HDD enclosure to USB 3.0 which gives it the functionality of an external hard drive.

I was wondering how or if it is even possible to transfer the Windows 7 OS to my current laptop which is currently running Vista Home Basic.
