Fairly experienced with fixing computers, but this one has me stumped.
Windows 7 (64), fairly fresh installation after a reformat a month or two ago. Audio fails after a random interval of the computer being on. Service stops running, but Windows is often able to repair automatically, when it can't repair I get error 1079 telling me it can't start the service.
The computer has had issues in the past with not starting audio on boot up, fixed by a quick restart, but the audio failing altogether is a new issue.
So far I've tried a system restore and ensuring all of the relevant services are set to start automatically. Could this be a hardware issue? (motherboard audio)
Thanks in advance.
