About 2 weeks ago I was given the task of setting up a new PC where I work, so I installed a copy of Windows 7 64-bit Professional off a Service Pack 1 disk. It proceeded to download almost 200 updates, which have presumably accumulated over the last few years and weren't on the disk. Unfortunately, a good chunk of those updates failed to install, and I have been unable to clear them and have Windows redownload and reinstall them. I can get the machine to start, but it ordinarily crashes on restart every time, and some updates installed since this happened have suffered similar failures.
For some reason, there was no system restore point created before they were all installed. I've tried deleting the Download folder in Windows > Software Update, this didn't help. I've downloaded all sorts of cleaning tools off MS's website, none of which have helped.
I've attached my Windows Update log from the few days in question in case that's of any use to anyone, and also pasted in the error message of the very first update that appeared to fail below. Any help would be much appreciated, as even though this is a relatively fresh install I don't have the time to reformat and reinstall everything because the machine is in constant use.
