I would like to restore my Windows 7 computer back to the original Windows 7 system I had on there.
I reinstalled Windows 7 because my old Windows 7 was too badly infected. I did a back up, (let Windows choose :eek:) pop in the disk, it reinstalls and makes a Windows.old file. I pull out the backup, install, and over my shoulder I am asked "Where are all the settings?" and "this isn't right". So to make the long story short, is there a way to restore the original Windows 7?. I have tried Microsoft KB 971760, but with no luck. When I am using the command prompt, I repeatedly get "System cannot find the file specified." I am able change to C drive and make the Win7 directory, and exit, but that's it. When I run dir I have only two files: BOOT and Win7. I see hints around that this can be done, but some concrete help would be nice. Again, I have the install dvd, the backup, and a Windows.old file.
Any Suggestions?
