C: Partition gone. Can't boot.

My laptop crashed last night and upon trying to restart it, it brought me to startup repair which was in a loop. I created a windows repair disc on another computer to bypass this and performed a startup repair with the disc, which then told me it could not repair the problem.

Upon leaving that screen and following some instructions, I've found out that the file \boot\bcd is missing, there is 0 registry hives and I am unable to access my C: partition.

Before I end up calling for some recovery discs to get my laptop back in working order, is there anything that I might be able to do to at least get it booting on its own again so that it can hopefully just be reset to the factory settings when I press my factory reset button?

I was given a suggestion to perform a clean reinstall elsewhere, but my OEM sticker has pretty much faded away after 2+ years.
