I have been using my laptop with a bluetooth mouse for a few years but the mouse suddenly 'disconnected' this morning and now the bluetooth settings on my laptop do not seem to work and have disappeared from the control panel.
When the mouse has disconnected in the past I usually reconnected from the bluetooth icon on the notification toolbar in the bottom right corner of the screen but this icon has disappeared.
I have managed to get access to the bluetooth settings by going into control panel>hardware and sound>view devices and printers then right clicking on my PC and selecting bluetooth settings but when I try to check the 'show bluetooth icon in notification area' box this message appears:
'An error occurred while Windows was saving your settings. The Bluetooth device might be unplugged. The following settings were not saved: Discoverability settings, Connection settings'
Does anyone know how I can get my bluetooth up and running again?
Thanks
(the bluetooth mouse has disappeared from the devices and printers section of the control panel and my computer performed an update earlier this morning)
