added windows 7

added windows 7 (was previously xp) to my pc and now i have totally screwed up my internet router connection to my laptop which already had W7 on it. I don't Know what i've done it doesn't. even show my old router info. (network connection name). I would really appreciate any help.
(netgear router), (dell pc & laptop), (arris modem)
