Is my Video Card dead?

I have a geforce 590 card

After I install the nvidia driver and the computer reboots it gets a BSOD
this is the file that causes it: nvlddmkm.dll

What I've done.
1. Tried 2 different drivers - the old one I was using and the newest one for the 500 series
2. reseated the card
3. Installed windows and the nvidia drivers on another (new) hard drive

same error on both drives
both os installs are from the same windows 7 install cd - ultimate
and I only tried the new nvidia driver on the new windows install
