Hi, I'm having several issues with my Sony Vaio Windows 7 64bit Home Premium Laptop. A few days ago upon start-up, I received an error message when trying to login to my Admin account. My caps were not on and I was entering the correct password...Error message - "User Profile Failed Logon". I am able to log on to a secondary user account that does not have admin authority; so I'm basically stuck. To make matters worse, I did a bunch of shutdowns/restarts to see if it would fix itself and now I get "password incorrect" error message on Admin acct. I do not have any cd's for the pc due to Hurricane Sandy and I don't have another laptop. I went to Youtube and found a Safe Mode Registry Fix that was super easy and was going to try it...but now that I am no longer receiving the "User Profile Failed Logon" and have subsequently locked myself out...I'm not sure this fix applies. I've read tons of blogs and have visited countless forums and I'm afraid to cause any more damage, lose access to the secondary user account or the ability to connect to the net. I definitely cannot afford to have it serviced and am hoping that I can resolve these issues with your help.
