Hello I am trying to repair my hp G62 laptop will not boot up all it says is bootmgr is missing. I tried to use the system restore utility reset back to factory specs ect. it says its reformatting the hard drive and then reinstalling the software but around 70 % the system stalls and then restarts to the missing bootmgr screen. ran several test on the hard drive smart check passed but short DST fails???? ran chkdsk /f to no avail.
I even tried to swap hard drives from my asus laptop hard drives are the same but different sizes 250gb for the asus 500gb for the hp I only get a blue screen when using the asus drive so I formated it and tried to reinstall windows 7 on the hp and now it says missing operating system or subsystem missing cant get to safe mode or anything. It has an intel i5 processor m430 @ 2.27ghz 4 gb of ram and a 500 gb hard drive. If I can't repair the hp how can I put an operating system back on the formated drive I took out of my Asus?:eek:
