A friend of mine brought me his laptop to see if i could fix it, the video output (no matter the screen) is completely screwy. Here is a picture of what it looks like.

That's not the actual laptop of course but that's what it looks like. It also does the exact same screen that the monitor displays if I hook up a monitor through the VGA Port on the left side.
He said Windows popped up a driver error before it all started screwing up but when i pull the hard drive and test the screen without that in it still does it so I'm thinking its hardware related but at the same time puzzled as to why it would do it on both the built in monitor and the VGA output too.
Anyone have a clue whats up and if there is a way to fix this? I'm at a loss since i don't really have any trouble shooting gadgets and I can't fix what I can't see lol.
