I had to format the hard drive and reload all the software on my desktop computer. Windows 7 64-bit both before and after the reload. I shared several folders on this computer that could be accessed by some other notebook computers also running Windows 7.
Most things are back to the where I want them except the folder sharing. I have shared the desired folders on the desktop but when I try to access a shared folder from other computers I get a screen entitled "Windows Security" with instructions to "Enter Network Password". It wants a user name and password.
I've never had a network password. Why does it want it now?
Start => right click on Computer => Properties => Workgroup for all of the computers has the entry WORKGROUP.
Since I have only changed the desktop computer it would seem that something network related is not properly configured. What is it?
Thanks.
Steve
