Hello,
I am encountering a problem with Homegroup set up in Windows 7 Professional. Seeking for a solution.
I have one desktop, one laptop, and 2 tablets. These computers are running on Windows 7 Professional.
Here is my set-up network configuration:
The desktop wires to the main router, and hosts Homegroup.
The laptop and 2 tablet wireless to the main router. These computers can detect the Homegroup and request for Homegroup password. I enter the password, none of the computers (laptop, tablets) can connect to the Homegroup.
Note: I want the desktop acts as a server and hosts the Homegroup.
Now I try. I remove the Homegroup that is hosted by the desktop. I create a new Homegroup on the laptop.
The desktop and 2 tablets are able to detect the Homegroup that is hosted by the laptop (I called "laptop Homegroup").
2 tablets are able to connect to the laptop Homegroup, but the desktop cannot.
I disable all firewalls (windows and AVG)
All Homegroup sharing setting options are set (e.g. discover network, share files, share printer, etc.)
I do not know what else I can do. Can someone help?
Question: is it possible, we can configure Windows 7 Pro. as a server?
Thanks
CT
