Solved: How deal with ACCESS DENIED in Program Files Dir.

I have numerous files which Windows 7 Uninstall left behind when uninstalling malware. The uninstall message was to the effect that, "(xx?file) Uninstalled, but couldn't automatically remove some parts. You will have to remove them manually."

So, using the Command Interface, I went to c:\program files (and (x86) and CD'd to the "xx?file" program in each malware case and entered DEL *.*, only to be greeted with ACCESS DENIED for each of the remaining files of the four or five supposedly uninstalled malwares.

So I tried the ATTRIB function: ATTRIB -r -s -i <enter>, and then the DEL operation as before, but
no joy. The same ACCESS DENIED message in each and every case.

How can I remove the remaining malware fragments "manually"?
