I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on a AMD FX 8350 eight core processor and 16g mem on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 mother board. The hard drives and DVD ROM are from my previous computer and worked fine on that. After Installing the the Mother board, processor, memory, and Windows 7 Ultimate I noticed that all my programs would stop responding for a short time then resume. I went through the processes of removing all but one memory chip and running the computer to see if that was the cause, each chip did the same. It seems to happen when the HDD is used, I get a solid HDD light during the freeze. I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or a Windows issue, I know I'm at the upper limits of Windows 7 and I'm wondering if that's the cause or if it's something different. I've been a computer tech for 16 years and this one has me baffled.
