I have been having the following issues with windows 7 since about April 28, 2014, and while I am not sure if this is the issue, was the same day that my computer downloaded and installed a windows update.
Sometimes my computer will randomly freeze or more than likely, BSOD and restart on me. Other issues involve random crashes of websites in google chrome (with an error that chrome ran out of memory or was terminated for another reason) and random crashes and error messages while playing games.
I tried rolling back the computer to prior to april 28 and disabling all automatic updates but I still ran into the same issues eventually.
I tried running a scandisk and repair of issues and this seemed to solve the issue for about 2 days and now it seems the same issues are happening again.
Playing games will sometimes cause the game to crash, seems to be only a matter of time before this occurs. Sometimes will cause a BSOD.
Hoping someone can direct me towards a permanent fix. Thanks.
