Hello. I am experiencing a problem with my AT&T 2Wire gateway connecting to my laptop. The wired connection works fine on my XP desktop and the wireless works fine with our family's cell phone, tablets, game systems, media streamer, and a Windows 8 laptop (or at least I haven't noticed it with the Windows 8 laptop). But it seems whenever I am using the Windows 7 laptop, the wireless connection will go in & out.
There is a pattern of blinking lights whenever the connection drops. The "ethernet" and the "wireless" light always are on; the "DSL" light turns red and blinks, the "Internet" light also goes out. After maintaining that pattern for 20-30 seconds, the DSL light will go back to a solid green and the Internet light will start blinking. After maintaining that for maybe another 20-30 seconds, the Internet light will go back to solid green.
While the connection is dropped, I get a variety of pages that show that my connection is not working properly. I have attached screenshots of what comes up on the browser if I click on something while the connection is dropped. Once the connection is restored, if I re-visit the page I was trying to access while the connection is dropped, a page will display (paraphrasing here) "Resolution was successful. Please restart your browser...."
Thanks in advance for any help. This can be very frustrating at times.
