Hi Guys,
got a weird thing happening on one of my laptops. Problem being, I would rather fix it than remove profile/settings or do a clean install since there is just too much on this machine and I don't have a lot of time to put aside to take it back to scratch and set up again.
Everytime i open windows explorer after booting up, its fine.
after a few minutes if i try to open explorer I get very few icons in the navbar down the left side i.e. nothing shows under "desktop"
where i would usually have my user folder, aswell as all my libraries etc, but technically nothing.
The above is not my main issue with this though, its more about once this starts happening if i try and open "Computer" none of my drives show,
green progress shows in address bar but looks to be taking forever just to show what few drives i have on my computer.
What i have tried is closing off the explorer process and starting it up again, however if i do this then try and open a folder i get
"the remote procedure call failed and did not execute"
error
Also tried full malwarebytes and spybot scans, which did find a couple of things but this issue is still not resolved.
sfc /scannow also ran with nothing found to fix it.
It does only appear to be tied to 1 profile on the computer since if i log in as original administrator, this does not happen, but like i said, i would rather not have to remove the profile and start it from scratch, due to the amount of porgrams and settings that are on it.
And finally - NO, i don't have a recent restore point to go back to :-(
thanks for your help in advance :-)
!Please see attached for basically what it looks like, and after a minute or 2, the address bar starts with the green going through it, i.e. progress bar as if its loading the drives, but its taking forever and there is only 4/5 drives there including a couple of mapped ones.
