Not that I'm technical but these are the details of my laptop....

Most times I use my laptop the cursor simply locks. The touchpad icon in the bottom right shows that it still lives as it responds (on the icon) when it is touched. The buttons work fine but I am unable to move the arrow around the screen. If I press any key on the keyboard the cursor unfreezes for an unbelievably frustrating 5 seconds and then locks up again. Makes navigating around the computer a nightmare!
I have uninstalled the touchpad driver, updated it, reinstalled it etc many, many times. The driver, when installed, rectifys the problem for that session on the laptop but the next time I switch on I need to re-install the driver again to get normality - this entails rebooting and is doing my head in!!!
Any help or guidance would be greatly received. I was wondering if Firefox was causing it but it seems to happen whether I'm online or not. Please help!
