I recently upgraded to Windows 7, from WinXP(SP3). Today I accessed a Word document created in XP. It is a poster created in Word, containing text and pics.
It accessed in gibberish. A single page poster opened with several pages of what looks like machine code. Or reveal codes, if anyone can remember Wordperfect.
Now I can painstakingly access each Word text document and delete the garbage. But it would take years, I have several.
But I do need those posters, I use them, or used them, every month.
Now it seems to me that there must be innumerable users who have recently upgraded, who also had Word documents on file. Journalists, in particular.
But I cannot find any Windows Help forum members who have had this problem.
Is this something simple that everyone knows but me?
