Hi,
Any help on this would be much appreciated, as whatever it is seems to be getting worse and ironically it has taken me ages to post this message as Internet Explorer keeps crashing as well!
About a week ago without any new software installations, updates or anything unusual changing, my laptop has just starting experiencing APPCRASH errors on an increasingly frequent basis. When typing in Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, or using Roxio Photosuite or Xara Web Designer (so its not just one product family leading me to think its an OS issue) seemingly randomly the application will just crash producing a report like the following:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: WINWORD.EXE
Application Version: 14.0.7109.5000
Application Timestamp: 522a4027
Fault Module Name: unknown
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 00658478
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
Additional information about the problem:
LCID: 1033
skulcid: 1033
On more than one occassion, the faulting module has been listed as 'StackHash' rather than as 'unknown', but more often than not its unknown.
After some surfing, I read that it might be to do with DEP so I have disabled it for the applications that are crashing but to no effect.
I have run all the usual virus scans (using Avira), System File Checker, Spybot, Memory Check, Chkdsk, the whole nine yards and found nothing.
Everything is updated, patched up to the latest releases and I've done the usual clean boot malarky that everyone suggests first and still get the same errors.
Help...?!
Best,
Luke
