Hello, and thanks in advance for any help.
My problem is this, I have a dell XPS that I bought two years ago or so, running windows 7. Not too long ago, it started crashing at apparently random times, bringing me to a blue screen of death (I do not know what the specific blue screen message was). It would start up again fine, usually. Before I had the time or patience to sitting down and remedying this, it seemed to crash for good. I received a blue screen I'd death, it shut down, and when I turned it back on, it immediately took me to a screen with a blue box asking for a "system password". Not only did I not set a system password, but the computer does not appear to be registering my mouse or keyboard at all, and I have tried several of each in various USB ports. So, are there any suggestions in how to go about repairing this? Data recovery is not a priority, so much as getting the computer running again. Is there hardware I should replace?
