Laptop keeps switching to "Power Save mode"

Hi all,

I usually can figure stuff out myself, anything from soldering a laptop charger to replacing a laptop screen... but this problem is completely stumping me.

I prefer my laptop to be in the "Balanced" power mode, which I've edited, so that my computer screen doesn't dim within just a few seconds, and so that when I close the screen it doesn't go to sleep.

The problem is...for some reason, the computer keeps switching itself back to Power Save mode....no matter how many times I go into Screen Saver > Power options and switch it to Balanced...it ALWAYS switches back to Power Save mode. It does it at random times, too...sometimes I can shut my screen hours after I've changed the power settings, and it will not go to sleep because it's still in Balanced mode. Other times...I switch it to balanced mode, and literally a minute or two later when I close the screen, it goes to sleep. Upon waking, I see that the power mode is yet again changed back to Power Save mode.

My computer is a Dell XPS L502X...the only thing I can think of is possibly Dell QuickSet is switching it??

I can't figure it out! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
