I don't know what has happened to my computer, but suddenly it has a ''mind of its own'' and pretends that I have typed in a shortcut when I haven't.
These are:
When I type 1 on the keyboard, not numeric pad it refreshes the page in firefox and makes it hard to type emails, typing 1 in Word 2007 causes it to open a Go to search window when all I wanted was to actually type one.
The biggest problem is when I type z, just the letter, no other keys, it acts as if it was Z and CTRL pressed, but I havent pressed CTRL at all. Things are deleted randomly after typing suddenly, it often goes back as much as the last paragraph, too.
What Ive done to attempt to fix it:
Disabled sticky keys and filter keys in Windows 7
Run various antivirus software, like Avast, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and these dont come up with anything or just show a list of harmless cookies.
I have manually cleaned the keyboard so there are no stuck keys. The keyboard is not USB, it is the PS/2 port(round port) type.
I dont have any restore points past 7th Feb 2014 and already tried to restore to 7th feb, same , the problem remains.
Keyboard testing software, both freeware and non-free show that when I press Z, the keyboard acts like it CTRL+Z pressed, when I press 1, test shows F5 has been pressed when I havent.
Please help me! I can buy a new keyboard if it is just a hardware issue but I feel it is not.
