Ordinal 459

I have recently had my OS completely resinstalled and am trying to reload software I use.

When downloading software through a 3rd party, which is all that is available sometimes, when I try and run it it gives an error "The Ordinal 459 could not be located in the dynamic link library urlmon.dll". I also sometimes get a message to say the installer cannot connect to the internet when I am actually connected all the time.

I have looked on this forum and the web and there is lots of info but I have been left more confused than when I started. I have also lost my windows gadgets again which is a thread I started before and actually resulted in the rebuild mentioned above.

I can't explain why but feel that Adobe Reader has had something to do with this, trying to download that is when I lost my gadgets again.

Could someone please explain to me exactly what is going on and how I can get over this problem of running downloaded files through a 3rd party downloader.
