Hello! I have a Gateway NV55C laptop about 2.5 yrs old. It started acting up, I believe, because it was overheating. I cleaned the fan but every time I started it, it would go thru the startup repair. As long as I left it on, no problems, but even when I shut it down properly...startup repair. Finally, that failed altogether and I tried to do a factory recovery from the recovery partition. I let it sit for nearly 24 hours with no progress. So I shut it down and put in the recovery disks. The disks went thru the motions until it came to "copying files" (from the CD i presume) then sat there for about 30 min. It popped the tray out and said I had an I/O error and couldn't proceed.
Any suggestions?
