USB error when booting PC

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me.

When I boot up my pc, after the first stage where it recognises all of the hardware, it goes straight to a black screen with a n in the middle and a flashing cursor in the top left of the screen. For it to boot fully I have to remove the USBs that are plugged into the tower - then it works fine. Assuming this is an error with either the internal PCI port, the sockets themselves, or the USB plugs.

Has anyone had this issue before/does anyone have any idea of how to check what is causing the issue? Obviously the pc is fine as it's runs perfectly apart from this.

Any advice would be appreciated!
