We have a Toshiba laptop that is set to automatically download and configure Windows updates. Being a busy mom, I'd noticed some issues with the updates in the last few months (it would go to a safe mode black screen after updates and then would start up fine once I shut down), but I never had time to really look into the issues.
Today, after realizing that the updates were actually failing, I researched a little and noticed that since May 2013, most updates have failed! Not all, but quite a bit.
The computer won't let me run the Microsoft troubleshoot FixIt program online, saying that it contained a virus and was deleted.
When I view the Windows Updates the error code it gives me after failing to update is 80070005.
I searched this forum and saw the April 2013 update issue but couldn't find an update in my history that matched that code.
What should I do? I'm not tech savvy, can you tell?!?
Thank you!
