Hi everyone
Firstly output of TSG sysinfo -
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual-Core QL-64, AMD64 Family 17 Model 3 Stepping 1
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 1790 Mb
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics, 256 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 152621 MB, Free - 96344 MB; D: Total - 152221 MB, Free - 145418 MB;
Motherboard: TOSHIBA, NBWAE
Antivirus: Microsoft Security Essentials, Updated and Enabled
This is my sister's laptop so the past history is a bit sketchy but a while back it got infected and a local computer shop reloaded the OS. Ever since then it has got progressively worse ie. netsvc takes all the memory on startup for around 20mins. It is basically not useable until it settles down. After that it is fine.
It is running 64bit with 2Gbps of RAM but we have a 32bit OS disk.
I don't know what it was originally running before it got infected but my sister says it worked a lot better.
So would reloading the 32bit version help based on how much memory this laptop has or are there other things I can look at ?
Thanks for any help.
Jon
