i have a three month old asus eee pc laptop with windows 7 start up. we gave it to my father in law who barely used it but recently gave it back to us because after windows boots up and loads freeze's right on the back ground scene. no icons ever load or menu of any sort. the mouse pad works fine but the mouse pointer and background picture are the only things on the screen. ctrl+alt+delete do not work and get no response. there are no messages before or after start up, and windows appears to be loading fine up until that point. but has no cd drive to boot from, and i cant figure out how to get to a safe mode or start up boot menu like in previous versions of windows any help would be appreciated
