Negative sound

Hi, I do not pretend that I have a serious problem with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Every time I start my computer I get a low pitched negative sounding noise which repeats 2 or 3 times. It is a little annoying as I feel something is wrong. The only thing that has changed is when I connect my camera using USB Nothing appears on the screen so I take my memory card out of the camera and use the SD slot on my computer. I then get options as normal.
PS I have my settings to ask me every time.
Hoping you can Help
