W7 will not boot - Chinese - removing programs from external disk

Hello all!

I have a question for you... maybe 2...

I have a friend with a laptop (W7) that was not booting.

The catch here is that she is chinese - and her computer is all setup to be chinese. So I would not be able to read the messages shes getting - until its fixed, basically.

So I pulled the hard drive and hooked it up to my laptop. I ran MSE, and Malwarebytes - and checkdisk. Each process found things - and check disk said it fixed them.

When the laptop locked up she was running a virus update for a program called - well of course I cant remember the name now, Im at work, laptop is at hom - Kingsoft! thats it... Kingsoft Virus protection.

So I wanted to do all I can while I have the drive out - it would be a hassle to get it back in only to find out I didnt get it all.

MSE originally stalled while scanning items in the Kingsoft folder - so on a whim I went into that folder and denied all permissions for all - and the scan finished the second time - as did Malwarebytes. MSE found one major Trojan - MWB found 37 malwares, adwares, etc.. All removed

So my question is - is there any way to remove a program from a drive - while it is mounted as an external?

The second question - I only ran diskcheck to check and fix file system errors - but did not do the find and recover bad sectors. Should I run that, and is there anything else I can do with the drive pulled out - before dropping it back in and trying to reboot it?

Much thanks for anything you can help me with here.
