So yesterday, my laptop (A lenovo G560) Crashed and was unable to boot. I didn't have an original OS CD, so the only thing I could do to recover my computer was to use the built in OneKey recovery feature. Well, thanks Lenovo, because it was a little bit broken (stopped recovering at 98%, but the computer was formatted as if it were brand new.)
Well, thanks to this broken recovery, it seems a few key system files were missing. The first one was some COMCTL32.dll or something like that and I couldn't install any programs because I kept getting that error. Well, I ran windows update and it seems to have fixed that problem.
Next we have MSVCR80.dll. Now, whenever I try to run a game, or open Adobe Reader or programs like that, I get the error saying that this DLL file is missing. I have tried everything (maybe short of borrowing someone's Windows 7 CD and doing a fresh install again.). I even downloaded the DLL and placed in the according folders, did a registry edit and etc. I don't know what to do anymore. If it's noteworthy, for some reason I can't uninstall .NET framework either (and I think this may be the root of the problem.) Anytime I try uninstalling it from control panel or downloading it from Microsoft, the installer opens for one second, shows the .NET framework icon and then just vanishes, like it wasn't even there (the process terminates and is gone as well.) What exactly would be the problem and how do I fix it?
