I want to put a ticker on my desktop?

Back when I had XP, I found a way to put a ticker (one of those weightloss, etc. tracking things) on my desktop so that it was on there along with whatever picture I had as my desktop at the time. I can't seem to figure out how to do this on Windows 7, and I want one that auto-updates. The ticker itself gives me 3 different code options: HTML, BBCode, & EZCode.

So which code do I use and how do I get it on my desktop? I only have one real request--KISS--Keep it simple (I'm) stupid. ;)
