Unassociate 'open with'

Hi guys. I've got a friend who is a newbie computer user and he's accidentally opened a .EXE file/shortcut with Microsoft Word, effectively changing everything on his desktop to be opened in MS Word (he checked the "Use this program for similar file types" option).

Any way to undo this?
