I have a HP computer and recently have gotten an alert in the lower right hand corner that says,
"Important action needed. Take action immediately to prevent the stability or security of your computer from being compromised."
I have very little knowledge of computers and don't know if I should forget this or is is a legit warning? I noticed that one Google search mentioned that instead of using the box, one can update the drivers using the key at the top right corner of the page I was reading. Some even suggested ignoring the black box.
I guess my question is, what would happen if I ignored it? I can do a scan but anything more technical is beyond me. If I were to click on the warning the next time it popped up, any idea what I'd find and need to do?
I'm really, really old it panics me when anything goes wrong with my computer. I depend on it.
