IE 10 update is unstable and uninvited

I hope the community would not mind another post here but I simply need help.

Windows Updates installed IE 10 and this was without my knowledge. I have just spent over an hour trying to get back online. I do not want it and how do I go back to IE 9 or should I try and tune in IE 10?

I would hope to simply go back to previous browser. Can I achieve this with System Restore?

Please advise as I will consider carefully my options.:(
