For some strange reason after using my computer for a while without switching it off it begins to run excruciatingly slowly in some aspects. Opening a new tab or connecting to a different site takes about 20 seconds in Chrome, however a link from one youtube page to another is almost instant. Occasional crashes occur though.
Firefox is extremely slow though and completely unusable, it consistently crashes. I never use Firefox, I always use Chrome. So this can't be a Chrome issue.
I get the same with applications, opening new applications takes ages but when they are open there are no problems.
(Like left clicking to open up the toolbar is instant but clicking the properties button takes ages for it to open).
My CPU usage stays almost at a constant 2% and memory is currently 43% of 16Gb used.
I am using raid 0 ssds and have two drives
C: 28.2GB/118GB Free <-- Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 is installed ahoy
Z: 58.3GB/212GB Free
Have the Inter(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K @ 3.20GHz
I will not be doing any defragmenting since I have ssds (Although I did used to defrag the C: before I found out why it was bad)
I have Avast antivirus that doesn't detect anything wrong with my system at all. However I question how good Avast really is since apparently I've never gotten a virus on this computer yet.
This has happened before on this computer, however last time I fixed it by freeing some hard drive space. And once it happened on my laptop where I re installed Windows (Same version -and product key actually) which fixed it for a while until it happened again.
This has been going on for about 3 weeks now.
Btw I have not noticed any change in boot time if that helps.
A big thank you in advance to all who reply and take the time to read this :)
And if you require additional information don't hesitate to ask!
