I recently tried to download PixResizer a photo editor that I have used in the past and like. I inadvertently must have not looked carefully and started to download something called PC Doctor from the download site. As soon as I noticed it going through my registry I aborted the download. For a short period I lost my startup registry items but after doing a couple restores to an earlier date everything has seemed to comeback. One thing I am noticing is that i can not open Windows Update. I went to the Microsoft Windows Site and there was a Fix It tool to download. Is that something I should use and how safe and easy is it to use? I'm using an Asus K52F Laptop running Windows 7. I have 4 G of memory. Have I done any serious damage to the Registry? It seems to be working as good as before the incident.
