Evening all,
Been a long while since I posted in these parts, but I'm just about at the end of my rope and could do with one of the gurus to have a look at what's going on. I'll cut to the chase. I'm experiencing multiple different BSODs on a new system. Things like:
There are a couple others, but these are the ones that stick in my mind. Now, as I said, it's a new build and I've gone through the standard steps to resolve/diagnose these issues. Memtest ran for 21 hours with no issues, Prime95 only 1 and a half hours as I didn't have time for longer, but it was stable and my CPU never got higher than 60C. Chkdsk and SFC both came out fine. All drivers are at their latest, stable only, no beta.
They can happen at really random times. Mostly when gaming, but I tend to have a game on one screen and a youtube vid on another. Sometimes it'll happen when downloading or moving files.
System Specs (straight from your app, with some extra detail thrown in for good measure):
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 60 Stepping 3
Processor Count: 4
RAM: 8131 Mb
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670, -1 Mb Not sure why this says -1Mb. Video memory is 4GB GDDR5. Card in question: Gigabyte GTX 670 4GB GDDR5 6008MHz
Hard Drives: C: Total - 1207627 MB, Free - 1056549 MB; D: Total - 699998 MB, Free - 529781 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., Z87-K
Antivirus: Microsoft Security Essentials, Updated and Enabled
PSU: Corsair 600W CX Builder Series 80 Plus Bronze
So, all in all, I'm not sure what is going on here. System is about a week old, and I've had these problems from day one. I'm hoping I can find out what is causing it soon, so if it is faulty hardware I can return it without too much hassle.
I initially thought it might be a lack of power, but online calculators are giving me values from 400W to 800W (I'm running a 600W psu that is less than a year old), so I'm not sure what I really need.
Any help/advice people could give would be great. Minidumps of the BSODs are available if anyone felt kind enough to look through them.
Thanks in advance,
Ironfist
