Files on USB Stick 'hidden'?

I've got two Windows 7 laptops and one USB stick.

When I put the stick in one laptop I can see all the files on it, although they are more feint/faint or greyed out than normal files, but they are still accessible if I click on them.

On the other laptop there are no visible files.

Any idea what the problem is?
