I have an issue not being able to install updates.
Originally explorer kept stopping working and there was an authentication failure, (after successfully registering legitimate windows!), and updates failed to work after SUCCESSFULLY re-registering!
As a result I completely reinstalled Win 7 and re-activated and all seemed fine. Then after installing about 70/185 updates (in small bunches), it hung up mid update and I wasn't able to get it the updater working. It just hung when selected from control panel.
I deleted the updater cache files and then I ran the windows updater fix program, FixWU, and finally I ran tweaking windows and ran the repair of windows update and at least the updater is now running however it won't check for updates and only returns an error 8007370D.
Interestingly enough, during this period of running the fixes, I got a windows re-register error again. I have re-registered using the phone this time, I did it on line last time, and all seems to have worked.
I have reached the end of my knowledge.
