Could you help me please? I am looking for some help, and/or some advice.
I have a PC that has Windows XP in it. As we all know, W7 is not protected by Windows anymore, so that’s one bad thing. Not only that, when I put it on, it takes about fifteen minutes before I can do anything, because the hard drive is running, and running, and running. Because it takes so long to start, I use my laptop about 99% of the time. I did put the PC on a few days ago, and after it stopped running, I did forget how nice it was to look at a large screen.
I am wondering if it is possible to put Windows7 in the PC. It might “fix” the hard drive from running so long, and with W7, I will be safe again. I really don’t use it that much to buy a whole new system.
I got the requirements for W7.
I think I’m ok with the processor, I have.. a 3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium D. RAM is 2 GBHard Drive is 145 GB
They want 1 gigahertz or faster.1 GB of RAM16 GB Hard Drive
The thing that could be a “stopper” is the Graphics Device.
I have RADEON X600 256 MB HyperMemory, and Secondary.
They want DirectX graphics device with WDDM.
Now I got curious, and I looked up what I have on my Laptop, that I’m running Windows7. I have Intel ® Graphics Family, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 540 M
That doesn’t sound like the same thing as in the requirement, so my question is, Do you need the one in the requirements, or is that one just to make W7 run at the top peak.
Thanks,
