Solved: Monitor won't stay open on full screen games, etc.

I have a few full screen games that I have been playing, like Hoyle Board Games. It worked fine until about a week ago. Now when I open any game that opens in full screen mode the games starts to play and then my monitor jumps to the desktop. When I click on the game on the task bar it goes to the game and I can see it running but it jumps right back to the desktop. It does this every time I try anything in full screen, full screen where you have to hit escape or close out the game to get to the desktop.
I am running windows 7 on an HP Compaq Pro 6305. I have updated my display driver but it hasn't seemed to help.
