Hi,
We have PC running windows 7 professional, 32-bit, acting like a server in our company.
In other city we have 2 retail stores and PC in each store. Those PCs are connected to the server by RDC.
Each remote PC has its own username created on the server PC and usually we have them both connected in the same time (during the working hours). We managed to do this on windows 7 with some tweeaking but that is not really important for what will follow.
What we noticed is that server on which we also work regularly slows down when these 2 are connected. That is fine if this slowing was such it almost makes working on the server impossible.
Server is running i3 540 processor and has 4 GB of RAM.
My question is could this be a processor issue? If we upgrade the CPU to lets say i7 870 (I found one used for a good price) could this solve the issue and make the server PC faster?
I doubt RAM is in question as it doesn't go above 3 GB used.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated. If you have some suggestions of how to optimize Remote Desktop Connections as well please post. Fort example how to turn off some programs that are opening once PCs from the retails stores are connected to a server PC and which are not used etc...
Cheers
Dean
