Multiple Program Crash / Error

Hello,
Really struggling here. I'm good with getting around my machine, reports, scans etc, but this one has me stumped. Somewhere in the wake of a failed windows update, or possibly something scammy my Avast antivirus, my registry or something got all screwed up. Here's the result:

  • Outlook 2007 opens, but no mail since yesterday, and when I click 'Send/Receive' , a pop-up says 'Not Implemented'
  • Excel 2007 tries to open, but pop-up says 'stdole32.tlb' after that, Access to CSV error 1706 - No valid source______
  • Word 2007 opens and works, but only after 'Setup Error- The setup controller has encountered a problem during install. Please review the log files for further information on the error'. After clicking 'OK', I get 'Please wait while windows configures MS Office 2007' then 'stdole32.tlb' again
  • Attempting a 'Change / Repair' on Outlook or Office 2007 does nothing when I click the button.
  • Snagit 'Could not locate help file, Snagit.chm, Online help will not be available
  • Camtasia - attempts to install when run
  • Acrobat Pro 8 - attempts to install at startup, then fails
  • Photoshop CS5 - Fatal Error during installation
  • Any attempt to do a system restore on 4 prior points fails each time
I'm sure there's more, but the above programs are critical to me :-(

Any help, scans, logs, or otherwise would be helpful. Already did a scannow, but file was so large I had to delete and re-run, and now not much to see on the log.

I make happy donation for help!
