Computer slow to open programs

About two weeks ago my computer started running slower than usual. For instance: when I click to open a browser window (IE) it stalls for a few seconds and then loads. Or, if I click on an application (i.e., Word 2010) again I get a "drag" time before it opens. If I click for InPrivate browsing, again, there is this "drag" time, real slow to open.


I ran MSE, Malwarebytes, Spybot, SuperAntiSpyware and Adwcleaner and removed some infections (not many). I defragged after cleaning temp folders. And still this machine is running slower than usual. I have filters turned off so I don't know exactly what is going on.
