I have an old system. The original motherboard was a Gigabyte 7DX- but something happened and I replaced it was a similar Gigabyte 7DX motherboard. This new motherboard has 3 memory slots while the previous one had 2 memory slots, and the new processor is an AMD 1200GHz. Anyway, my primary Western Digital 250G HDD started going south on me so I purchased another WD 250G HDD with the intent of cloning the old drive before it shut down completely and I lost all my files. After installing the new 250G HDD, I decided to install Windows 7 on it instead of replacing Windows XP Pro. So, placing the Windows 7 Pro disc into the CD drive,
I booted my system. The Windows 7 Pro loaded. Then I saw the Windows 7 Pro logo come up. After the logo screen disappeared an arrow appeared on the screen and remained there for every and a day. That is, until I realized Windows 7 had not booted as it should have to the installation screen. I tried installing Windows 7 several times but the setup screen never appeared.
What happened? I was under the impression that when you install the Windows 7 disc into the CD drive the installation process was automatically detected. Help please!!!!!
