Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop (Model #: PSC16C-02U00M) The keyboard and the touchpad both don't work in Windows. I have tried booting from a Hiren's Boot CD/USB into mini XP and the keyboard still doesn't work. However, the keyboard does work when in the BIOS, and it will work in Windows if I hibernate and then wake the PC up. The touch pad doesn't respond at all.
I have currently already done the following:
- Updated BIOS
- Removed devices from Device Manager and let Windows re-discover
- Installed the new Snaptics driver for this laptop from Toshiba
- Have booted into safe mode with no luck in getting keyboard or touchpad working
- Done Windows Updates
- Removed power and the battery, held down power for 30 seconds, then reseated everything
- Removed all peripherals including a USB mouse to see if there were any conflicts
- Shut off the Toshiba power management to ensure it wasn't powering down the peripherals
Definitely at a loss here :( , doesn't appear to be a hardware issue, but every time an operating system boots I can see the Num Lock key turn off, so it's basically turning off the keyboard somehow. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
